GlucoseAITracker is operated by Landis Industries LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use, disclose, and delete your personal data when you use the GlucoseAITracker mobile application (“App”), our website, and related services (“Services”). We are committed to transparency about our data practices. Please read this policy carefully before using our Services.

1. Definitions

• “App” — The GlucoseAITracker iOS application and Apple Watch companion app.
• “Credits” — Usage units for AI meal analysis (one credit = one photo analyzed). Not money or credit cards.
• “Personal Data” — Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
• “Services” — The App, our website, backend APIs, and any services we provide.
• “We,” “Us,” “Our” — Landis Industries LLC, the operator of GlucoseAITracker (www.landisindustries.com).
• “You,” “Your” — You, the individual using our Services.

2. Acceptance

By using our Services, you accept this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App or website. We may amend this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated via the App or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Terms of Use (Standard EULA)

If you download GlucoseAITracker from the Apple App Store, your use of the App is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple’s standard Terms of Use / EULA for App Store apps): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. Our separate Terms page may describe additional terms that apply to the Services.

3. What Data We Collect and How

3.1 Information You Provide

• Meal data: Photos of meals, meal descriptions, food items, and nutrition values you enter or that our AI estimates from photos.
• Support communications: Name, email, and message content when you contact us.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device identifier: A hashed device identifier (e.g., from identifierForVendor) used for authentication and account association. We do not collect your name or email unless you provide it when contacting support.
• App Store receipt: When you have a paid subscription, we may receive receipt data to verify your purchase and grant usage credits (AI meal analysis allowances; not credit cards).
• Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, and similar data when you use our backend APIs or website.

3.3 Health Data

• HealthKit: Glucose readings, timestamps, and related health data you authorize the App to read from and write to Apple Health. HealthKit glucose data is primarily stored locally on your device. If you use features that generate insights, limited glucose data necessary for those features may be securely transmitted to our backend for processing.
• Apple HealthKit only: We do not connect directly to any glucose-monitor manufacturer services. Glucose data is accessed solely through Apple HealthKit and only with your explicit authorization.
• Medical disclaimer: GlucoseAITracker is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The information provided is for informational purposes only and should not be used as medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional.
• No medical provider relationship: GlucoseAITracker is not a healthcare provider and does not create a patient-provider relationship.

3.4 Third-Party Sources

• We may receive data from Apple (e.g., receipt validation) when you use those services.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and operate the Services (meal analysis, insights, glucose tracking).
• To process meal photos via AI and return nutrition estimates.
• To correlate meals with glucose data for personalized insights.
• To manage your account, credits, and subscription status.
• To respond to support requests and communicate with you.
• To improve reliability, security, and service quality.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data based on: (a) your consent where required; (b) performance of our contract with you; (c) our legitimate interests (e.g., security, fraud prevention, service improvement); and (d) legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where applicable; withdrawal may limit our ability to provide certain Services.

6. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only as follows:

• AWS (Amazon Web Services): Hosting, storage (S3), databases (DynamoDB), and compute (Lambda). Backend services are hosted in AWS regions located in the United States.
• OpenAI: Meal images and related metadata are sent to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating nutrition estimates. We only send the minimum necessary data to OpenAI to perform the requested analysis. We do not permit OpenAI to retain or use your data for model training. OpenAI processes images according to its Privacy Policy.
• Apple: HealthKit data is governed by Apple’s policies. Receipt validation uses Apple’s servers.
• Legal and authorities: We may disclose data when required by law, to protect rights, or to respond to lawful requests from courts or government authorities.

7. Data Retention

• On your device: Meals, glucose data, and settings are stored locally (Core Data, UserDefaults, Keychain). You control this via device settings and app deletion.
• Backend: Account and credit data, analysis results (nutrition JSON), and usage records are retained as needed for the Services. Uploaded meal images are stored temporarily in Amazon S3 and are programmatically deleted immediately after AI processing completes.
• Account deletion: When you delete your account, we soft-delete your data and permanently purge it within 90 days. See our Data Deletion page for details.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (e.g., KMS for AWS resources). No system is 100% secure. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) when transferring data outside your jurisdiction where required by law.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request erasure of your data.
• Receive a portable copy of your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@glucoseaitracker.com. You can also delete your account and associated data from within the App (Settings → Account → Delete my account).

California residents: If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to request disclosure of categories of data collected and the right to request deletion.

11. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not use health data for advertising or marketing targeting.
• We do not share your meal photos or health data with advertisers.
• We collect only the data necessary to provide the Services and do not collect unnecessary health or personal information.

12. Children

Our Services are not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us.

13. Website Cookies and Tracking

Our website may use necessary cookies for basic functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics that track you across sites. You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies.
