Data Deletion Instructions

GlucoseAITracker is operated by Landis Industries LLC (www.landisindustries.com). We are committed to giving you control over your data. This page explains how to delete your account and associated data, what happens when you do, and what data may remain.

1. How to Delete Your Account (In-App)

Follow these steps in the GlucoseAITracker app:

  1. Open the Settings tab.
  2. Tap Account.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. Read the confirmation message and confirm when prompted.

Once confirmed, your account is immediately placed in a soft-delete state. Most account access is disabled right away.

2. What Gets Deleted

2.1 Backend Data (Our Servers)

Within 90 days of your deletion request, we permanently purge the following:

  • Account and credits: Your user record, plan, usage credits (AI meal analysis allowances; not credit cards), and billing-related data.
  • Analysis results: AI-generated nutrition estimates, food identifications, and metadata associated with your meal analyses.
  • Uploaded images: Meal photos are deleted immediately after each AI analysis (typically within minutes). Any remaining images in our temporary storage are purged as part of the 90-day process.

2.2 Soft-Delete and Purge Timeline

  • Immediately: Your account is flagged as deleted. You will no longer be able to use backend features (e.g., AI meal analysis) with that account.
  • Within 90 days: A scheduled purge job permanently deletes your data from our databases and storage. You will receive a confirmation date when you delete.
  • After purge: We retain only a non-sensitive, hashed internal identifier in a restricted “deleted users” registry for fraud prevention and abuse mitigation purposes. This record does not contain meal data, photos, glucose readings, or health information.

Deleted accounts and associated data cannot be restored after permanent purge.

2.3 Data Not Deleted by Account Deletion

  • Usage analytics: Aggregated and de-identified operational metrics (e.g., total API calls, token usage, system performance statistics) may be retained. These metrics cannot reasonably be used to identify you and are not linked to your meal or health data.
  • Promo redemptions: If you redeemed promo codes, we may retain anonymized or minimal redemption records for audit purposes.

3. Data on Your Device

Account deletion affects our backend only. Data stored locally on your device is not automatically deleted when you delete your account. To remove local data:

  • Uninstall the app: Deleting the GlucoseAITracker app from your device removes meals, glucose data, settings, and other locally stored data.

4. Apple Health (HealthKit)

Data already stored in Apple Health remains under your control. Account deletion does not remove or alter data in the Health app. GlucoseAITracker does not directly access Dexcom servers unless you separately connect a Dexcom integration. Glucose data accessed via HealthKit remains under your control through Apple’s Health app. To manage HealthKit data:

  • Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Data Access & Devices.
  • Select GlucoseAITracker and tap Turn Off All Categories to revoke access.
  • You can also delete specific health data from within the Health app.

5. Requesting Deletion by Email

If you cannot access the app (e.g., you no longer have the device), you may request account deletion by email. Contact us at support@glucoseaitracker.com with:

  • Your request to delete your account and data.
  • Any identifying information that helps us locate your account (e.g., the email you used for support, or a description of when you last used the app).

We will verify your identity to the extent possible and process your request in accordance with this policy. We will process verified deletion requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.
